It&#8217;s so close now. <em>He&#8217;s<\/em> so close, almost here. The first reading is from Michah.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Thus says the Lord:<br \/>\nYou, Bethlehem-Ephrathah<br \/>\ntoo small to be among the clans of Judah,<br \/>\nfrom you shall come forth for me<br \/>\none who is to be ruler in Israel;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And today&#8217;s Gospel reading, from St. Luke, has more of the\u00a0<em>Hail Mary<\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit,<br \/>\ncried out in a loud voice and said,<br \/>\n\u201cBlessed are you among women,<br \/>\nand blessed is the fruit of your womb.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Father Caulfield reminds us how he had told us those three short weeks ago, when Advent began, that it would fly by so quickly. He sure is right, I agree. Time <em>has<\/em> flown.<\/p>\n<p>He admits that it has for him as well.<\/p>\n<p>And I wonder if we can ever truly prepare as much as we should. I always think of Emily&#8217;s line in <em>Our Town<\/em>, from the third act:\u00a0<em>Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it? -\u2014 every, every minute?<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve almost made it.
