Saw this headline on my memeorandom<\/a> feed in my Google Reader: Moon-walker claims alien contact cover-up (NEWS.com.au)<\/em>. Wondered if I could figure out who was the likeliest culprit before reading the actual story<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So, first, who walked on the Moon? Off the top of my head, there’s:<\/p>\n

Apollo 11<\/strong>: Armstrong, Aldrin
\nApollo 12<\/strong>: Conrad, Bean
\nApollo 14<\/strong>: Shepard, Mitchell
\nApollo 15<\/strong>: Scott, Irwin
\nApollo 16<\/strong>: Young, Duke
\nApollo 17<\/strong>: Cerwin (?), Schmidt<\/p>\n

Yeah, okay, I’ve got a one in twelve chance of just guessing randomly, sure. How hard is this test? (Play along at home, then. You <\/em>pick one.)<\/p>\n

But, then again, how many are still alive? Again, off the top of my head: Conrad, Shepard, and Irwin are dead. So now it’s down to one out of nine.<\/p>\n

But, really, it’s not even close. It’s been a trick question. Ed Mitchell’s clearly the weirdest one by far in this list. The only other one even close would have been Bill Irwin, but, again, we know he passed away years ago, not long after his (second?) trip to Mount Ararat to find Noah’s Ark.<\/p>\n
